Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) has confirmed 11 new cases of measles in Norfolk County, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Grand Erie region to 68. The cases include 13 adults and 55 children across Haldimand County, Norfolk County, the City of Brantford, and the County of Brant.

GEPH continues to investigate the outbreak and is conducting follow-ups with known contacts who may have been exposed to the measles virus. As part of the ongoing investigation, public health officials have identified specific locations where individuals may have been exposed:

  • Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department, 365 West St., Simcoe – February 19, 2025, between 6 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.
  • Wilkinson’s Your Independent Grocer Delhi, 227 Main St., Delhi – February 14, 2025, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Individuals who visited these locations during the specified times are advised to monitor for symptoms of measles, which include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a characteristic rash. Those who develop symptoms should contact their healthcare provider before visiting a medical facility to avoid potential further exposure.

GEPH will be hosting a measles vaccine clinic on February 24 in Haldimand-Norfolk. We are accepting all unvaccinated and under-vaccinated residents of the Grand Erie region. Full vaccination is the most effective way to protect yourself, your family, and those in our community against measles.

GEPH was established in January 2025 following the merger of the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit and the Brant County Health Unit.

The organization serves the County of Brant, the City of Brantford, Haldimand County, and Norfolk County, focusing on promoting and protecting public health.

GEPH continues to collaborate with local partners to respond to public health concerns and urges residents to stay informed about measles and other communicable diseases.
