Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) is investigating 11 additional confirmed cases of measles in Norfolk County, bringing the total to 48 cases across the Grand Erie region.
The region includes Haldimand County, Norfolk County, Brantford, and the County of Brant. Among the cases, six are adults and 42 are children.
One individual is currently hospitalized, while the remaining cases are recovering at home. The source of infection for the hospitalized individual remains unknown, and GEPH is conducting contact tracing.
GEPH has identified potential exposure locations, advising those present during the specified times to monitor for symptoms: • LaSalette Old Colony School, La Salette – February 5, 2025 (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
• Glen Meyer Old Colony School, Langton – February 5-6, 2025 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
• Tim Hortons, 200 Terrace Hill St., Brantford (A-wing, 1st floor):
– February 10, 2025 (4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)
– February 11, 2025 (10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)
– February 12, 2025 (9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.)
GEPH, formed in January 2025 through the merger of the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit and Brant County Health Unit, continues to monitor the outbreak and urges anyone who may have been exposed to visit www.bchu.org/measles or www.hnhu.org/measles for information on symptoms and preventive actions.
