Brantford police have arrested a second suspect in connection to the robbery and shooting that left three people injured in the downtown core on January 22, 2025.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in progress near Colborne Street and Alfred Street. Two victims were shot, and a third was assaulted.
All three sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
An 18-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested on February 10, 2025.
He now faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, and several firearm-related offenses, such as pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent to wound.
The suspect has also been charged with disguising with intent, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and fleeing from police. He was held for bail and appeared in court on February 11, 2025.
This arrest follows the swift apprehension of another suspect on the night of the incident.
On January 22, 2025, a 21-year-old male from Dundalk was arrested after attempting to flee the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Officers pursued the suspect, who was caught with assistance from BPS K-9 Mack.
He faces similar charges, including two counts of attempted murder, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, multiple firearm offenses, possession of stolen property, and flight from police.
