The Brantford Minor Hockey Association (BMHA) has addressed concerns circulating on social media regarding the organization, emphasizing its commitment to player safety and adherence to Hockey Canada’s guidelines for handling incidents of maltreatment.

In a statement released by the BMHA Board of Directors, the association acknowledged the ongoing discussions and reassured the community that the matter is being taken seriously.

“The safety and well-being of all minors in our programs are our top priorities,” the statement read.

“From the moment this situation was brought to our attention, members of the Board have been actively involved, working diligently to address the matter.”

While details regarding the specific concerns were not disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the situation, BMHA reiterated its dedication to transparency within the limits of privacy and policy constraints.

“We understand that this topic brings up strong emotions, and we want to assure you that we feel the same,” the Board stated. “The trust you place in us as stewards of your children’s safety is not taken lightly.”

BMHA encouraged those seeking more information on the complaint process and available resources to visit the BMHA Complaint Process and Safe Sport pages.

Community members with specific concerns were invited to reach out directly to the association at president@brantfordminorhockey.com.

The organization concluded by thanking parents and guardians for their patience, understanding, and continued trust as they work through the matter.
