Routine Traffic Stop in Brantford Leads to Arrests and Major Drug Seizure

A routine traffic stop by Brantford Police on January 21, 2025, uncovered a significant drug operation, resulting in the arrest of two men and the seizure of several illicit substances.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. near Clarence Street South and Icomm Drive. The driver of the vehicle was found to be operating under a suspended license and was unable to produce proper identification or vehicle documentation. During the search for documents around the driver’s seat, police discovered a large quantity of suspected drugs and stolen license plates.

The items seized included:

  • 41 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
  • 35.1 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • 2.5 grams of suspected Fentanyl
  • 30 Hydromorphone pills

The license plates found in the vehicle had been reported stolen from a neighbouring jurisdiction.

A 26-year-old Brantford man faces charges including driving under suspension, four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of stolen property under $5,000. A 24-year-old man, also from Brantford, faces identical trafficking charges and a charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
