The Brantford Police Service (BPS) Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit has arrested two men following an investigation into drug trafficking activities involving fentanyl and hydromorphone within the City of Brantford.

The investigation, launched in November 2024, culminated on January 21, 2025, with a search warrant executed at an Albion Street residence.

The operation was supported by the BPS Emergency Response Team and the Forensic Identification Unit.

During the search, officers seized Canadian currency, a digital scale, a loaded 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, and the following illicit drugs:

  • Approximately 32.8 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 68 suspected hydromorphone pills

Neither of the two suspects held a valid firearms license, and one is under a lifetime Firearms Prohibited Order, barring possession of firearms, prohibited weapons, or ammunition.

An 18-year-old man from Guelph faces multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl and hydromorphone), unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.

A 53-year-old man from Brantford has been charged with similar offenses, as well as possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
