Ford of Canada is fueling the aspirations of young Ontarians with a transformative initiative aimed at empowering students through hands-on automotive training. As part of its national Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) program, the company has partnered with schools across Canada, including nine institutions within the Grand Erie District School Board, to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in the automotive trade.
In 2024, Ford took a significant step by donating essential vehicle components—engines, transmissions, turbochargers, and more—to more than 40 schools nationwide. Among the beneficiaries were several schools in Ontario, including Brantford Collegiate Institute, Delhi District Secondary School, Dunnville Secondary School, North Park Collegiate, Paris District High School, Pauline Johnson Collegiate, Simcoe Composite School, Valley Heights Secondary School, and Waterford District High School. These contributions are intended to bolster automotive service training programs, providing students with the tools to develop critical technical skills.
The ACE program offers industry-standard training, seamlessly integrating specialty knowledge into school curriculums. Students gain expertise in areas such as electrical systems fundamentals, steering, suspension, and brakes through free online modules designed to mirror the training provided to Ford technicians. This initiative not only enhances classroom learning but also prepares students for potential careers at Ford dealerships, bridging the gap between education and industry.
