Carol Luciani has been acclaimed as Chair of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) for a one-year term, following the Board’s Annual Meeting last night. Norfolk County Trustee Luciani, who has served five years as Vice-Chair, brings extensive leadership experience to her role. Trustee Dan Dignard was also acclaimed as Vice-Chair for the upcoming term.
In her address, Chair Luciani reaffirmed her commitment to prioritizing the needs of all students in the district. She emphasized the importance of fostering education that equips students to thrive in an evolving world. “Together, as a Board, we will work closely with our dedicated senior administration team, ensuring solutions that reinforce our shared mission,” said Luciani. “This includes supporting initiatives that result in improved outcomes, acknowledging our school-home-parish partnerships, engaging openly with our community, and ensuring our focus remains on the students who are at the heart of everything we do.”
Luciani’s leadership experience is grounded in her years of service to the district as an elementary school principal and as a second-term trustee. Her dedication extends beyond governance, as she remains an active member of the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Delhi, and Catholic Family Parishes of Norfolk communities.
During her term as Chair, Luciani will oversee significant developments within the district, including the opening of a new elementary school in Caledonia, Pope Francis, and the ongoing construction of Brantford’s newest secondary school, St. Padre Pio. She also emphasized her commitment to Special Education, highlighting the Board’s responsibility to invest in programs and initiatives that address the diverse needs of all students.
With her blend of governance expertise, community engagement, and a deep commitment to Catholic education, Chair Luciani is poised to lead the BHNCDSB through a transformative year. Her vision reflects a dedication to ensuring that all students in the district receive the education, support, and opportunities they need to achieve success.
